This application is a comprehensive and interactive tool that serves as a self-contained dictionary and translator between English and Ancient Egyptian.

It delves into the meanings of ancient symbols, their possible pronunciations, and the construction of words and phrases. The app boasts 2,777 hieroglyphic signs, covering 61,642 words, phrases, titles, epithets, and locations from Ancient Egypt. Additionally, it includes the Horus, Birth, and Throne names of all known Pharaohs and Queens of Egypt. This dictionary offers nearly triple the content of other smartphone translation apps, all verified against modern professional references.

 <li>Beginner mode provides a simplified version with a basic set of 200 glyphs and an easy pronunciation guide.</li>
 <li>Student mode showcases the standard Middle Egyptian Gardiner set of over 700 glyphs organized by shape and standard transliteration.</li>
 <li>Pro mode offers all 1,071 glyphs in Gardiner's classic categories along with over 1,700 additional New Kingdom and later signs.</li>

A notable highlight of Hieroglyphics Pro is its capability to search glyphs based on their frequency in inscriptions, simplifying the process of adding common signs to a word or phrase. The app visually represents Egyptian words and phrases in graphical quadrat groups reminiscent of ancient inscriptions.

 <li>Graphically from Gardiner groupings or Manley's Groupings by shape in Beginner Mode.</li>

 <li>Utilizing transliteration symbols from the Phonetic shortcuts table.</li>
 <li>Searching for keywords in a glyph's description or determinative words.</li>

Text entries with Gardiner Codes and MdC shortcuts can now be edited using conventional cursor and finger-swiping methods for quick and convenient editing. The application accommodates varied writing directions as used by ancient Egyptians.

Hieroglyph Pro stands out as the initial mobile application to introduce Hieratic glyphs (a style of cursive Egyptian writing) and their evolutionary timeline over centuries.

This modern iOS app is supported back to iOS 14 with Dark Mode compatibility. It features help files along with links to online references and printed materials for advanced studies. The app's comprehensive dictionary data is self-contained and functions without internet or cellular connectivity.

Upon finding the desired translation, a simple tap can copy it to the clipboard for pasting into other applications, emails, messages, etc.
